Kentucky
is a very special state to spend a weekend alone. Over 50 large state
parks, dozens of cultural centers, 90 theaters and performing arts
centers, and more shopping and antiquating than you could ever hope to
visit in a lifetime.
Notes:
One of the more famous hotels with theme rooms around, the Wildwood Inn
always comes out tops in search results. And for good reason! They
offer couples theme rooms and family-oriented theme rooms.

Louisville's one-of-a-kind attractions provide visitors with a taste of Louisville's rich heritage. The Kentucky Art and Craft Gallery
showcases unique arts and crafts handmade exclusively by Kentucky
artists. This treasure-trove of singularly sensational art is located
in a beautifully restored historic building in the West Main Street
cultural district and sells Kentucky's "living history," the art and
craftwork of contemporary Kentuckians.
West
Main Street is in itself an experience unlike any other. A stroll down
this historic avenue with its bricked sidewalks, mid-19th century
architecture and wrought iron decor reveals Louisville's roots as a
riverport and distribution center. The buildings along Main Street
represent the second largest collection of cast iron facades in the
country. With such attractions as Louisville Science Center, the Louisville Slugger Museum & Bat Factory, Kentucky Center for the Arts and Actors Theatre of Louisville peppered along the street, visitors could literally spend an entire day on this exceptional avenue.

Notes:
Opened in 1905, this Beaux Arts hotel captures the spirit of a golden
era in the modern heart of downtown Louisville. Guestrooms with
antique-style poster beds and carved mahogany armoires offer a warm,
inviting atmosphere and city views. Guests can enjoy the same attentive
service and ornate amenities that once attracted eight presidents, Al
Capone, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. The hotel left such a lasting
impression, Fitzgerald chose this hotel as the wedding location in "The
Great Gadsby". I hope it leaves such an impression on you!
