The
Great Plains has a slower pace and beauty that are perfect for romantic
weekends. In addition to the natural wonders of the state, Kansas also
offers you some of the more interesting tourist attractions.
Kansas
City is famous for it's food. But there is so much more to this city
split by two states. It has all you would want from a major
metropolitan city - world-class hotels, professional sports,
full-gaming casinos, a fabulous zoo, top-notch museums, live theater,
great places to eat and shop, and interesting places to relax and have
fun.
For attractions, you can start with Union Station.
Opened in 1914, this landmark was fully restored to its original
grandeur in 1999. Today it's home home to the Science City museum, a
giant-screen movie theater, a stage for live performances, restaurants,
shops, traveling exhibits and much more.
The 200 acres of the Kansas City Zoo
offer visitors the unique experience of seeing wild animals at home in
the wild. The zoo is also home to the Sprint IMAX Theatre, featuring a
65-foot tall IMAX screen.
The Country Club Plaza
blends a mix of European culture and design with a little Midwestern
hospitality. Numerous shops, restaurants and fountains line this
14-square block entertainment district.
For
performing arts buffs, Kansas City gives you no less than 18 theater,
ballet and musical offerings. And with nine full service
nightclubs and 5 casinos, there's plenty to keep you busy into the wee
hours of the morning. So where to rest you head at the end of a long
Kansas City day?
